What We Believe

About God:
God is the creator and sustainer of the universe. He has eternally existed as three persons, namely the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are equal in power and are one God.

About Man:
Man is made in the image and likeness of God. Man was created to be in relationship with God and the object of His affection. Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, that image has been distorted and has opened the opportunity for disobedience towards God.

About Sin:
Through this sin of our first parents, all of humanity, and the rest of creation, is subject to sin and therefore, by nature, in opposition to God. This nature separates man from God.

About Jesus Christ:
Jesus Christ is the son of God. He has eternally existed with the Father and is co-equal with him. Through the incarnation, Jesus’ eternal divine nature was fully merged a human nature. During his life he lived a sinless life of devotion to God and offered his life as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on the cross. His power over sin and death was showcased through his resurrection from the dead three days later. He has ascended to heaven and will return again.  We have the privilege of joining Christ in this work.

About Salvation:
Salvation is a gift from God to man, it is not earned. Man can never close the void that exists between himself and God through his own efforts. Only through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ can man be reconciled to the God.

About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is equal in power with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of their salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under his control daily.

About the Bible:
The Bible is God’s revelation of who he is to man. It was written by men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is the word of God, it is true in all that it affirms, without error.

About the Local Church:
The Church is the bride of Christ. A beautiful institution filled with broken individuals. Jesus died to present to himself a bride who is spotless and without blemish. We believe that our highest calling is to worship Christ in all areas of our life, culminating in the worship with other believers in the presence of the local church.

About Reconciliation:
Sin has distorted the intent not only of man, but of all of creation. We believe that Christ has called and equipped us to work towards the coming of his kingdom in this life. This includes the reconciliation of human to God, human to human, human to nature, and human to self. We have the privilege of joining Christ in this work.
