"Dust to Glory"
An overview of the Bible based on 25-minute video presentations by R.C. Sproul coupled with at-table small-group Bible study and discussion. This class will cover the Old Testament one year, the New Testament the next, and repeat that cycle as an introductory overview of the Scriptures and "backbone" class for our Sunday-morning adult spiritual growth program. The two modules next semester will complete the Old Testament
Module I: "The Land [of Israel] and its People"
Module II: "The Prophets" Taught by John Dolan & Dwight Fox
"The Reformed Faith: what is it, and why do we believe it?"
The Reformed Faith received its name from the efforts of faithful Christians to reform the Church in the sixteenth century. This class will examine the church's status under the leadership of Rome at that time, and how Luther, Calvin, and others sought to re-establish it according to Scripture. Many have found understanding these awesome truths that God has revealed in His word to be life-changing.
Module I: Five slogans of the Reformation: Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, To the Glory of God Alone
Module II: Five Points of Calvinism, also called the election. predestination, or the doctrines of grace. Taught by Karl Williams & Jake Horner
"The Marriage Builder"
This class will focus on the Biblical concept of oneness as the concept of blessing for a Christian marriage. What is it that will provide both the security and the significance in marriage that allows us to minister to our spouse, rather than to manipulate our spouse? This class is for anyone who is married, engaged or might consider marriage in the future. We will use Dr. Larry Crabb's short little book, The Marriage Builder. We will go through the discussion questions together each week. Outside class reading will be expected, a short chapter each week. Dr. Crabb offers solid, effectual biblical guidelines for progressing, deepening and even healing relational connections of oneness with the one who is to be with you while you have life. Cost of the book is $10; books can be provided free, too.
